Duradel typically assigns them in very small amounts (10-20),which contradicts our goal of doing high-volume,high-XP tasks in safe spots or cannon-friendly areas. Sure, the bones are good for Prayer XP,but overall,Black Dragons just don't contribute meaningfully to RuneScape gold Slayer XP gains.
Greater Demons & Black Demons
Greater Demons Task Weight: 9
Black Demons Task Weight: 8
These two should almost always be blocked for similar reasons. They are single-target,have a poor drop table, and are often found in crowded spots where other players may crash or compete for kills.
They also take a while to kill and are frequently assigned in large quantities — sometimes 130 to 200 at a time. This leads to long, tedious tasks with little reward. If you're an Ironman, they might be more useful for grinding out demon-specific drops or farming shards, but for the average player, these are massive XP sinks.
Spiritual Creatures
Task Weight: 7
Spiritual Creatures might not show up constantly, but when they do,it's often one of the least enjoyable tasks in the game. Found in the God Wars Dungeon, these mobs are annoying to access and often require god-aligned gear to avoid being swarmed by other enemies.
Their loot is poor, they're generally a waste of time, and unless you're hunting Dragon Boots from Spiritual Mages, there's no reason to ever keep this task unblocked. These were the first creatures I personally blocked, and I've never looked back.
Steel Dragons (and other Metal Dragons)
Task Weight: 7
Steel Dragons — and by extension, all metal dragons like Iron or Mithril Dragons — are slow, defensive, and dangerous. You'll need high protection prayers
Steel Dragons (and other Metal Dragons)
Task Weight: 7
Steel Dragons — and by extension, all metal dragons like Iron or Mithril Dragons — are slow, defensive, and dangerous. You'll need high protection prayers and decent gear to kill them efficiently, and even then, the loot is underwhelming compared to the effort.
Recently,Steel Dragons became weak to Earth Spells due to Project Rebalance, but it hasn't significantly improved XP rates. These tasks often require multiple trips due to their durability and strong dragonfire attacks, which is the opposite of efficient.
If you're thinking about cheap Runescape gold unlocking Mithril Dragons as a Slayer option: don't. They're even slower than Steel Dragons and arguably more frustrating.
